Stalko
Stalko are a three-piece from Malta. Equally comfortable being minimal or grand, the instruments of choice are piano, violin and guitar but they are fond of a variety of other handily sized instruments. Strong vocals and bursts of instrumentation are interspersed with moments of fragility and discord.
Stalko’s debut album ‘Grandiloquence’ was released in November 2012. It was named ‘album of the year’ by the Sunday Times of Malta’s music correspondent Michael Bugeja. Stalko won the Best New Act and were nominated in the Best Album category at the 2013 Malta Music Awards.
The band have supported the likes of Owen Pallett, the Moulettes, Adem and Stanley Brinks (Herman Dune) and are greatly looking forward to supporting Neil Halstead (Slowdive, Mojave 3) in October.
Stalko released their second album, ‘A long wave goodbye‘ in early 2016.
