Festivals to look out for in 2019

It’s safe to say that Malta has become a hot spot for some super cool festivals. From alternative music to world music, pick out which festival suits your music taste buds best!

 

Rock The South (12th-14th April 2019)


This iconic festival is a yearly platform showcasing Malta’s hottest alternative artists. Running in its eight year, the 2019 edition will feature local acts such as Beangrowers, BNI and Slit, while also internationalizing by hosting Japanese four-piece Bo Ningen, UK-based Neon Islands, Capitol K & International Diamond Thieves, as well as Scottish songstress Emme Woods! Definitely not one to miss!

 

One Drop Reggae Festival (3rd-6th May 2019)

One Drop is Malta’s very own reggae festival! Spend three days dancing to reggae, ska and dub tunes, while eating wholesome food and being surrounded by a great community. Featuring a list of international acts such as Mungo’s HiFi and Paolo Baldini DubFiles, we’re looking forward to experiencing a lot of good vibes this May!

Lost and Found returns to Malta for its fifth installment. Presented by BBC’s very own Annie Mac, the lineup includes The Black Madonna, Chase & Status (DJ), Octavian, Patrick Topping, Peggy Gou, Denis Sulta, Fredo, Honey Dijon and Horse Meat Disco…just to mention a few! Pool parties + good music? Definitely sounds like a good combination!

Malta has quickly become Glitch’s house and techno fortress! With attendees from all over the globe and a killer lineup including Ben Klock, Bicep & Carl Cox, Glitch is undoubtedly the go-to event this August. Glitch offers a sonic adventure, coupled with rooftop pool parties, secret cave raves and boat parties that will surely make your festival experience memorable.

 

Earth Garden (30th May-2nd June 2019)

This local eco-friendly staple attracts 25,000 music fans per edition! Serving as a showcase for countless local and foreign acts, Earth Garden commits to celebrating diversity, music and life, while remaining a pioneer in increasing environmental awareness. With 5 stages and 120 acts, it’s safe to say that there’s something for every alt-music fan out there at this festival!
