Indie Origins

The indie scene originated in the mid-1980s in the UK, US, and New Zealand as a sub-genre of
rock and roll, however, it didn’t take long until the rest of the world caught up, including Malta. If
you’re looking to meet a community of alternative fanatics and bond over the love of artists like
The Smiths, Artic Monkeys and Bloc Party amongst a plethora of others, then make sure you head down to A Night with Indie this month.

 

Rediscovering Indie Music

Indie music lovers have always been a respectable scene within the Maltese community, and A Night
with Indie celebrates this genre’s raw talent and creativity. From indie rock to acoustic ballads,
this event promises a diverse range of alternative sounds.

This year’s line-up is bringing Indie selectas, David Grech Urpani, Steven Meli, and
Ben Vincenti. Expect to hear the soundwaves of IDLES, The Strokes, alt-j, Tame Impala and more.
