Rock for Richmond 2019: An alternative festival with a noble cause
The highly-anticipated mini-festival Rock For Richmond is back…and every alt-music fan in Malta is super excited!
This mini music festival was created with the sole aim of raising funds for Richmond Foundation Malta. This NGO has been an important institution when it comes to combatting mental health stereotypes and providing much-needed professional services in this crucial societal sector.
Furthermore, this festival serves as a platform for alternative artists in Malta. This year’s selection comprises of rising hip hop star Eddie Fresco, indie kids roża and alternative-pop quintet Djun.
Eddie Fresco is a young hip hop artist who’s grabbing a lot of attention in the right places. Besides being a founding member of 215Collective, Eddie Fresco is also holding his own as a solo artist. In fact, he’s launching the highly anticipated ‘Incognito’ in September.
roża are an indie band that is slowly but surely making waves in the local scene. With a steady stream of live performances supporting their latest single ‘Bag of Lies’, it’s safe to say that this young band is going places.
Djun are a recent addition to the Maltese alternative scene. However, its members have all been involved in various projects in the past. Their collective experiences resulted in the mesmerizing debut ‘Il-Ħlas’, which we can’t get enough of!
Rock For Richmond will be taking place this Saturday, at Monte Carmeli Gardens.
