Rock & Metal Festivals to look out for in 2019

Rock and metal fans in Malta are in for a treat in 2019, with these three rock and metal festivals providing top-notch rock and metal artists from Malta and abroad, performing on your doorstep!

Here’s an overview of what these festivals have to offer:

Rock the South Malta (12th-14th April 2019)

Rock The South Malta is back for the 8th edition onthe 12th 13th and 14th of April 2019 at Zion Reggae Bar, M'skala.

Already in its 8th year, this festival has expanded from its humble beginnings to a bona fide festival showcasing some top Maltese and foreign acts. Featuring Maltese alt-rock legends Beangrowers & Areola Treat, as well as metal and punk acts such as Align the Tide and BNI, the festival is headlined by Japanese noise-rock band Bo Ningen. Alternative music fans are definitely in for a pleasant surprise!

Malta’s only Gothic/Industrial/Metal is back! Featuring acts such as And One & Lord of the Lost, the festival will showcase legends such as Clan of Xymox, Suicide Commando & Aesthetic Perfection, amongst others. The official after-party featuring Industrial/EBM act Alien Vampires is the perfect way to end this smashing weekender!

Metal over Malta Festival (22nd-24th March 2019)

Malta’s metal scene has been going from strength to strength. This metal offering is the perfect opportunity to unite Maltese metalheads from across the metal spectrum. Headlined by Norwegian prog-metal band Leprous, and Finnish melodic death metal six-piece Omnium Gatherum, the festival also serves as a prime platform for Maltese metal bands such as Angelcrypt and Victims of Creation, amongst others. Metal over Malta continues to commit to providing quality music for enthusiastic music fans.
