Chris Tanti

Chris Tanti started playing guitar 10 years ago after being inspired by bands such as Beatles at the age of 15. After playing with a number of Maltese bands, in 2012 he formed a duo with local singer/songwriter Cheryl Balzan and released 3 singles.

Later Tanti discovered the guitar virtuoso, Tommy Emmanuel who inspired him to start playing Fingerstyle. Chris also mentions Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed, Merle Travis and Django Reinhardt as other influential artists.

Tanti has performed at many local events and festivals including Rockestra and Earth Garden. In 2014, Chris was also the supporting act for the great guitarist Don Ross. Chris Tanti is also part of a duo with a local vocalist Kim Pepe, both being very active in the local music scene. As a fingerstyle guitarist he plays arrangements from varies genres of music including Pop, Country, Blues, as well as Jazz.
