Offbeat is Valletta's beloved jazz and blues bar, and this Friday night quartet set is exactly the kind of intimate, no-frills live music the city does best. Nestled in the heart of Valletta's steep streets, Offbeat is a genuine scene institution — arrive early because it fills up fast.
ONE HUNDRED MILES: A Tribute to Miles Davis
Sunday, 22 March 2026 — Teatru Manoel, Valletta (Main Stage, 8:00 PM)
Marking the centenary of one of jazz's most influential figures, this is a full concert honouring the life and legacy of Miles Davis. Under the musical direction of local trumpet player Alex Bezzina, the show reimagines *Birth of the Cool* and journeys across the many genres Davis transformed — from modal and post-bop to fusion and beyond. A proper one-off.
Revolution and Revelation
Friday, 27 March 2026 — Teatru Manoel, Valletta (7:30 PM)
Another night of live music at the magnificent Teatru Manoel, one of Europe's oldest working theatres. Revolution and Revelation is on the Teatru Manoel programme for late March, offering another chance to catch something culturally significant in one of Valletta's most atmospheric performance spaces.
Metallum Idus Martiae 2026
Saturday, 14 March 2026 — The Garage, Żebbuġ (Doors 8:00 PM)
Inspired by the ominous symbolism of the Ides of March, this is a ceremonial convergence of history, myth, and extreme metal — not just a concert, a proper ritual. Headlining is Varathron from Greece, pioneers of Hellenic black metal, alongside Italy's cinematic black metal act Darkend, and Malta's own Killerwitch. Heavy, dark, and unapologetically intense.
Dark Malta Festival 2026
Friday 17 – Sunday 19 April 2026 — Gianpula Village, Żebbuġ
Now in its seventh edition, Dark Malta is Malta's only gothic, industrial, and metal festival — and it keeps getting bigger. This year's lineup already includes Das Ich, Leæther Strip, Then Comes Silence, [:SiTD:], Nitzer Ebb, The 69 Eyes, God Module, and many more, plus pool parties, DJ sets, the Oskura Art Exhibition, and an alternative market. Three days of dark culture in the heart of the Mediterranean — this is Gianpula like you've never seen it.
Malta Metal Meeting 2026
Friday 24 – Saturday 25 April 2026 — Gianpula Village, Żebbuġ
Brand new in 2026, the Malta Metal Meeting is the island's first-ever camping metal festival, and it's launching with an absolutely serious lineup. Headliners include In Extremo (legendary German medieval metal), Orden Ogan, and Septicflesh — the Greek titans of symphonic death metal — alongside local Maltese acts. Two days, camping, and community in one of Malta's most unique outdoor settings.
