Guitar Lesson FAQs
How much do guitar lessons cost in Malta?
Most guitar teachers on Trackage Scheme charge between €15–€35 per hour. You'll see each teacher's rate before you commit to a lesson.
Do I need my own guitar to start lessons?
Yes, having your own guitar to practise on is recommended. Your teacher can advise on what to buy if you're just starting out — a decent beginner acoustic guitar can be found for under €100.
Should I learn acoustic or electric guitar first?
Either is fine. Acoustic guitar builds finger strength and is great for singer-songwriters. Electric is better if you're into rock, blues, or metal. Your teacher can help you decide based on your musical goals.
Can I take guitar lessons online from Malta?
Yes. Many of our guitar teachers offer online lessons via video call. Select 'Online' or 'Either' when submitting your request.
How long does it take to learn guitar?
Most beginners can play basic chords and simple songs within a few weeks of regular practice. Reaching a confident intermediate level usually takes 6–12 months with consistent lessons.
Can I prepare for guitar exams (ABRSM, Trinity)?
Yes. Several of our teachers specialise in classical guitar exam preparation. Mention your exam goals when you submit your request.
